When it comes to the Mi'kmaq Lejeune Family, there are many nay-sayers. some
prominent like Stephen White and some not so prominent like Lucie LeBlanc, and others simply because that is their
character.
Whatever their prominence, motives or character may be, this website will continue to present the Truth
about the Lejeune family and the fact they were Mi'kmaq.
The Lejeune family of Jeanne Lejeune, Pierre Lejeune and Martin Lejeune who were
all sibling, is
not an Acadian family, it never was an Acadian family, nor will it ever be an
Acadian family.
Stephen White posted an article on the web entitled a "Closer Look at the
Records", no doubt because of the constant importuning of Lucie LeBlanc.
I have read this "Closer Look" and found it to be nothing more than
smoke and mirrors to distract readers from seeing the truth which the records
themselves clearly reveal.
However I will post no rebuttal to Mr. White's comments. It wouldn't be too difficult to offer up a rebuttal to Mr. White's "Closer
Look" simply by questioning his intentions as to why he brings up the
Lejeune sisters or Marguerite Guedry and what they have to do with the Study of
the Lejeune family in question, but I have no intentions of going back and forth
with him or any other group that have nothing to do with the history or the
ancestors of the Bras d'Or Indians. The records speak for
themselves. We choose to listen to the records and the voices of our
ancestors. That is what is presented in the Study.
The Mi'kmaq families of Little Bras d'Or Cape Breton for decades now have been erroneously
classified as Acadians by those on the outside, certainly not within our
community. What you are witnessing today is the descendants of
these Mi'kmaq families standing up and breaking this yoke of false teaching
which certain individuals would like to hang around our necks and continue the
myth that our ancestors were Acadians.
We are CHOOSING to identify with our Mi'kmaq ancestors simply because that is
what they were and that is who we are. It's that simple.
To learn more about the Mi'kmaq Lejeune family through which the Bras d'Or
Indian descend see:
I also suggest you read up on the
other Mi'kmaq families presented on this site because the more you read about
these families, the more the cluster of Mi'kmaq families through which the Bras
d'Or Indians descend will come to light as presented in the Study.
